Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Copilot CLI

AI-powered command line assistant — talk to your computer in natural language.

Install

npm install -g copilotcli

Setup

Set two environment variables:

# Your Anthropic API key (or local proxy key)
set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=your-key

# (Optional) Custom API endpoint for local proxy
set ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL=http://localhost:4000

Or create a .env file in any directory:

ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=your-key
ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL=http://localhost:4000
COPILOT_MODEL=claude-opus-4-6
COPILOT_SAFETY_MODE=smart

Usage

# Interactive mode — enter the copilot shell
copilot

# One-shot mode — execute a single instruction
copilot "帮我列出D盘所有jpg文件"
copilot "Move all .log files from D:\ to C:\logs"

Options

-m, --model <model>    LLM model to use (default: claude-opus-4-6)
-s, --safety <mode>    Safety mode: smart | always | yolo (default: smart)
--base-url <url>       Custom Anthropic API base URL
--no-color             Disable colored output

Safety Modes

  • smart (default) — auto-execute read operations, confirm writes/deletes
  • always — confirm every operation
  • yolo — no confirmations (use with caution!)
