Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Headless capability review for Vercel eve agents — aletheia diff gates authority expansion in PRs.

Readme

@danielalbinsson/aletheia-cli

Headless authority diff for eve (Vercel) agents. Diffs what an agent can do / reach / do unprompted against a baseline and fails CI when authority expands.

Part of Aletheia — the local-first trust tool for eve agent legibility.

Install

In your eve agent directory:

npx @danielalbinsson/aletheia-cli portrait
npx @danielalbinsson/aletheia-cli diff --baseline git:main
npx @danielalbinsson/aletheia-cli snapshot # after intentional expansion; commit the file

Or add as a dev dependency: pnpm add -D @danielalbinsson/aletheia-cli. Bins: aletheia and aletheia-cli (same entrypoint).

diff — authority diff for CI

aletheia diff --baseline git:main
# exit 0 = ok, 1 = authority expanded, 2 = error

passport — Kit Certified checklist, mechanically

Scores the agent against the Kit Certified checklist (compiles, consent mirrors gates, policy present, diff green vs baseline, restrictions visible) and emits a passport generated from the build.

aletheia passport --format json # or markdown
# exit 0 = certified, 1 = not certified, 2 = error

portrait — generated capability portrait

Renders the agent's portrait (bust + what it can do / touch / do alone / cannot, with honest provenance labels) as a build artifact — not a screenshot.

aletheia portrait --format json # or text

snapshot — write the committed deploy baseline

Writes agent/.aletheia/deployed-capabilities.json from current facts so the next aletheia diff uses it as baseline. After an intentional authority expansion (and the capability-change-ack label), run this and commit the file on the same PR.

aletheia snapshot
# exit 0 = wrote, 2 = error (build/manifest failure)
# does not fail on elevation
# --out <file> overrides the path

All four accept --no-build (read an existing manifest) and --agent-dir <path>.

Requirements

  • Node 24+
  • An eve agent project (directory with agent/)
  • eve CLI available when the diff needs to build (eve build) for verified facts

Related

  • Interactive inspector: clone the Aletheia repo and pnpm dev
  • Agent skill: npx skills add danielalbinsson/Aletheia --skill aletheia-eve-trust
  • Index for agents: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/danielalbinsson/Aletheia/main/public/llms.txt

Tests

From the Aletheia repo root:

pnpm exec vitest run src/cli
# or
pnpm --dir packages/aletheia-cli test

Covers flag parsing, nested git: baselines, consent overlay, the passport checklist and portrait rendering, and smoke runs of the bundled bin against a fixture agent (--no-build).
