Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Binance MCP Server (Hardened Fork)

A Model Context Protocol server for Binance exchange — market data, account management, and trading. Forked from ethancod1ng/binance-mcp-server with critical bug fixes, an expanded tool set, and production hardening.

What's fixed vs the original

| Issue | Original | This fork | |---|---|---| | Timestamp sync | Missing useServerTime — signed endpoints fail with -1021 | Fixed with useServerTime: true | | Symbol validation | Rejects numeric-prefixed symbols (1000SATSUSDT, 1INCHUSDT) | Fixed regex accepts numeric-prefixed symbols | | Order types | Only MARKET and LIMIT | All 7 types: MARKET, LIMIT, STOP_LOSS, STOP_LOSS_LIMIT, TAKE_PROFIT, TAKE_PROFIT_LIMIT, LIMIT_MAKER | | Time in force | Hardcoded GTC | Configurable GTC, IOC, FOK | | cancel_all_orders | Requires symbol parameter | Symbol is optional — can cancel across all pairs | | Tool descriptions | Chinese only | English (international) | | Rate limiting | No retry logic | Exponential backoff with jitter for -1003 and network errors | | Error format | Doubled isError + error in JSON | Clean single error format | | Balance precision | parseFloat + parseFloat with FP artifacts | Exact decimal-string addition | | Config wiring | recvWindow/timeout declared but never passed to client | Properly wired | | MCP SDK | @modelcontextprotocol/[email protected] | Maintained v1 line (@modelcontextprotocol/sdk@^1.30.0) | | dotenv | Loads .env from cwd at startup | Removed — env vars only via config | | Vulnerabilities | 13 known (3 moderate, 10 high) | 0 |

New tools (not in original)

| Tool | Description | |---|---| | get_exchange_info | Trading rules, lot size filters, price filters, min notional | | get_server_time | Binance server time + local offset for clock sync diagnostics | | get_avg_price | 5-minute average price for a trading pair | | get_asset_balance | Balance for a specific asset | | get_account_trades | Executed trade history for a pair | | get_trade_fee | Trading fee rates | | test_order | Validate order parameters without placing | | get_order | Get details of a specific order by ID | | get_dust_assets | List dust assets convertible to BNB | | convert_dust_to_bnb | Convert dust assets to BNB |
