Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@datapolymarket/mcp

MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for datapolymarket.com — weather and crypto data for Polymarket traders, exposed as native tools to Claude, Cursor, Codex, Cline, and any other MCP-compatible AI agent.

What it does

Wraps the datapolymarket REST API behind 6 MCP tools your AI can call directly:

| Tool | Purpose | Tier | |---|---|---| | weather_current | Current temp + today's running max for any of 44 cities | Free | | weather_forecast | Multi-model ensemble forecast (ECMWF, GFS, ICON, JMA, UKMO) | Trader+ | | resolution_probability | Real-time YES probability for a Polymarket weather market | Pro | | crypto_oracle_lag | Polymarket vs Binance vs Chainlink price drift | Crypto bundle | | crypto_spread | Polymarket order-book spread + Binance reference | Crypto bundle | | list_open_markets | Convenience listing of tracked cities + meta | Free |

Authentication is per-user: your DPM_API_KEY is forwarded as X-API-Key to the API. The MCP server does not bypass any access controls or tier limits.

Install

Claude Code / Claude Desktop

Add to ~/.claude/config.json (or your project's .mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "datapolymarket": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@datapolymarket/mcp"],
      "env": { "DPM_API_KEY": "dpm_..." }
    }
  }
}

Cursor / Cline

Open Settings → Tools & MCP → Add server, paste the same command/args/env JSON.

Codex CLI

Edit ~/.codex/config.toml:

[mcp_servers.datapolymarket]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "@datapolymarket/mcp"]
env = { DPM_API_KEY = "dpm_..." }

Get an API key

datapolymarket.com/signup — passwordless email sign-in, key auto-issued on first verify.

Example prompts (after install)

Find me 3 mispriced Polymarket weather markets resolving today.

Is there a BTC oracle-vs-spot arb on Polymarket right now?

What's the bias-corrected daily-max forecast for Atlanta?

The AI picks the right tool, calls it with your key, and reasons over the JSON.

Local development

git clone https://github.com/datapolymarket/mcp
cd mcp
npm install
npm run build
DPM_API_KEY=dpm_... node dist/index.js

The server speaks MCP over stdio — pair it with any MCP client to test.
