Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Create and package DBX plugins without compiling the DBX plugin CLI

Readme

@dbx-app/plugin-cli

Precompiled dbx-plugin CLI for creating and packaging DBX plugins. Installing this package does not compile the CLI and does not require a DBX source checkout.

npm install --global @dbx-app/plugin-cli
dbx-plugin create my-plugin

Or run it without a global installation:

npx @dbx-app/plugin-cli create my-plugin

The package selects a precompiled binary for macOS, Linux, or Windows and bundles the matching Rust and Go DBX plugin SDK sources. Frontend-only plugins require only Node.js. Rust and Go are needed only when the plugin itself has a Rust or Go backend.

dbx-plugin create my-plugin --template frontend
dbx-plugin create my-rust-plugin --template rust
dbx-plugin create my-go-plugin --template go
dbx-plugin package my-plugin
dbx-plugin dev --path my-plugin --port 5190

The dev subcommand requires Node.js 22+ and runs the bundled browser development runtime, without DBX or source-tree dependencies. It supports frontend-only workbenches and Rust/Go backends, with JSONL or framed transport. Optional [dev] ui_build and ui_watch command arrays configure project builds. Development credentials are stored locally as plaintext under .dbx-dev/ (or --data-dir). Other commands retain their existing Node requirements.

中文说明

@dbx-app/plugin-cli 提供预编译的 dbx-plugin 命令。安装时不会编译 CLI,也不需要克隆 DBX 源码仓库。

npm install -g @dbx-app/plugin-cli
dbx-plugin create my-plugin

也可以直接使用:

npx @dbx-app/plugin-cli create my-plugin
