Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Waste Movement Utils

Collection of shared components and utils for use in Waste Movement Services.

Prerequisites

  • Node.js (see .nvmrc for required version, use nvm for version management)
  • npm

Getting Started

Clone and Install

git clone [email protected]:DEFRA/waste-movement-utils.git
cd waste-movement-utils
nvm use
npm install

Development

Running Tests

Run unit tests:

npm test

Code Quality

This project follows DEFRA code standards. Before committing:

  • Code is automatically formatted with Prettier
  • ESLint checks are run via Husky pre-commit hooks
  • PRs must pass all tests and linting checks

To manually run code quality checks:

npm run lint           # Run ESLint
npm run format:check   # Check code formatting

To fix issues automatically:

npm run lint:fix       # Auto-fix linting issues
npm run format         # Format code with Prettier
