Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

DevMind Model Context Protocol server — expose code review, security scan, knowledge base, and chat as MCP tools for Cursor / Claude Desktop / Continue / any MCP client

Readme

DevMind MCP Server

Model Context Protocol server that exposes DevMind's review, security, knowledge-base, and chat capabilities to any MCP client — Cursor, Claude Desktop, Continue, Cline, VS Code Copilot Chat, etc.

What it gives the LLM

| Tool | What it does | |---|---| | devmind_search_kb | Semantic search across the repo's indexed code chunks, MR history, security findings, and docs | | devmind_review_diff | AI code review on a unified diff (no MR record created) — score, grade, per-issue findings | | devmind_security_scan | SAST + secret + OWASP scan on a unified diff | | devmind_get_mr | Fetch the DevMind review for a specific MR (score, summary, issues, links) | | devmind_list_mrs | List recent MRs filtered by status / repo / author / title text | | devmind_chat | Ask DevMind's AI a natural-language question with full repo context |

The clear win over native Cursor/Claude tooling: DevMind has indexed YOUR codebase in Qdrant plus historical review feedback, so its answers reference real prior decisions in the repo.

Install

# In your editor's MCP config — ~/.cursor/mcp.json (Cursor) or
# ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (Claude Desktop):
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "devmind": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@devmind-ai/mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "DEVMIND_API_TOKEN": "dvm_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx",
        "DEVMIND_API_URL": "https://api.devmind.vn",
        "DEVMIND_DEFAULT_REPO": "<optional repo UUID>"
      }
    }
  }
}

Get the API token at https://devmind.vn/settings/api-tokens (or your self-hosted instance).

Local dev

cd apps/mcp-server
pnpm install
pnpm build
DEVMIND_API_TOKEN=dvm_xxx DEVMIND_API_URL=http://localhost:4000/api node dist/index.js

Test with the official inspector:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector node dist/index.js

Why a server (not a Cursor extension)

MCP is the protocol Anthropic + the major IDE vendors agreed on for tool exposure. One server reaches every conformant client without per-vendor packaging. As Cursor / Claude Desktop / Continue / VS Code Copilot Chat all converge on MCP, this is the cheapest distribution channel.
