Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Embeddable and standalone Next.js admin package for DigitalAfarin Headless SEO CMS

Readme

@digitalafarin/cms-admin

Embeddable visual Next.js administration package for DigitalAfarin Headless SEO CMS.

The default installation mode embeds the CMS Admin inside an existing Next.js App Router application, so the public website and /cms share the same Next.js runtime and the same node_modules.

Embedded mode (recommended)

Install through the main CLI:

npx @digitalafarin/cms-cli admin \
  --frontend frontend \
  --admin-base-path /cms \
  --admin-api-url https://api.example.com/api/cms/v1

Or, after installing this package in the host frontend:

npm install @digitalafarin/cms-admin

npx digitalafarin-cms-admin embed \
  --frontend . \
  --base-path /cms \
  --api-url https://api.example.com/api/cms/v1

The embed command:

  • creates the Admin routes inside the host app/cms or src/app/cms;
  • keeps reusable Admin implementation files under digitalafarin-cms-admin/ inside the host source root;
  • uses the host project's existing Next.js, React and node_modules;
  • creates the same-origin /cms/api-proxy route;
  • writes the required CMS Admin environment values into the host .env.local;
  • does not create a second Next.js application.

Generated environment:

NEXT_PUBLIC_DIGITALAFARIN_CMS_ADMIN_BASE_PATH=/cms
NEXT_PUBLIC_API_URL=/cms/api-proxy
DIGITALAFARIN_CMS_API_URL=https://api.example.com/api/cms/v1

Standalone mode (optional)

Process-isolated deployments remain available:

npx @digitalafarin/cms-admin scaffold \
  --dir cms-admin \
  --base-path /cms \
  --api-url https://api.example.com/api/cms/v1 \
  --port 3001

Standalone mode creates its own Next.js app and therefore has its own package.json and node_modules. Use it only when a separate Admin process is intentionally required.

Professional editor

The Admin includes the Tiptap-based Standard Editor with RTL/LTR, headings, formatting, links, tables, Media Library images, lists, quotes, code blocks, word count, focus mode, autosave/recovery and revision tooling.

The structured Block Editor remains available as Advanced Blocks. CMS content is stored as structured blocks; rich prose uses the typed rich_text block whose canonical body is Tiptap JSON.
