Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

HID DigitalPersona Fingerprint API

This JavaScript library allows to use fingerprint readers in web browsers and capture fingerprint enrollment or authentication data, using a DigitalPersona local device access API.

[!IMPORTANT] The API is designed to be used in a browser environment only! This is not a NodeJS library!

Requirements

The Fingerprint API requires one of following HID DigitalPersona clients to be installed on the user's machine:

HID DigitalPersona Workstation / Kiosk -- part of HID DigitalPersona Premium suite, providing multi-factor authentication, biometrics, integration with Active Directory, etc.
HID Authentication Device Client (previously "Lite Client") -- a free Windows client, providing communication with devices like fingerprint readers, cards etc.

Target platforms and technologies

Supported platforms:

Windows 10 and later
Windows Server 2008 R2 and later

Supported browsers:

Chrome and Chrome-based browsers (Edge etc)
Firefox
Edge Legacy (WebView2)

Module formats (browser-only, no NodeJS!):

IIFE (ES5): dist/fingerprint.sdk[.min].js
Typings (TypeScript): `dist/fingerprint.sdk.d.ts
