Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

DCode: the agentic coding CLI from DipoleML, powered by the raven model family.

Readme

DCode CLI

The agentic coding agent for your terminal, from DipoleML.

DCode plans, writes, runs, and reviews code with the raven model family. It reads your workspace, edits files, executes commands, and verifies its own work, with your approval at every step.

Requirements

  • Node.js 22.13 or newer (the current LTS is fine). Older versions print how to upgrade and exit with code 3
  • macOS, Windows, or Linux

Install

The one-line installer checks Node.js, installs DCode and starts it right away:

# macOS and Linux
curl -fsSL https://dipoleml.com/install.sh | sh

# Windows (PowerShell)
irm https://dipoleml.com/install.ps1 | iex

Or with npm:

npm install -g @dipoleml/dcode-cli

Start

dcode

With no arguments, DCode fills your terminal window: your name, model and folder in a header on top, the conversation scrolling in the middle, and the message box with your 5-hour and weekly usage pinned at the bottom. The DCode disc animates on launch, then you ask it to fix a bug, write a feature, or review a diff. Use --no-fullscreen to keep the conversation in your normal terminal scrollback. It proposes commands and file changes for your approval before anything runs. Colour adapts to your terminal (truecolor, 256 or 16 colours; set NO_COLOR=1 to turn it off).

| Key | Action | | --- | --- | | Enter | Send. While DCode is working, your message is queued | | \ then Enter, Alt+Enter, Ctrl+J | New line | | Esc / Ctrl+C | Interrupt the running turn. Ctrl+C twice on an empty prompt exits | | Shift+Tab | Cycle the permission mode | | Ctrl+O, /expand | Show full tool output | | /, @ | Command and file suggestions (Tab to complete) | | /model | Pick the model (up/down) and how hard it thinks: Off, Low, Standard, High (left/right) | | Mouse wheel, PgUp/PgDn, End | Scroll the conversation; End jumps to the newest | | /setup | Show what works on this computer (sign-in, browser, permissions, git) |

To run a single prompt and exit (useful in scripts and CI):

dcode -p "Explain the failing tests in this repository"

For JSON output in pipelines:

dcode -p "List every TODO in src" --output-format json

The first time DCode needs a model, it offers to sign in with your DipoleML account (a free account works) or to use an API key. You can also run it directly:

dcode login

Your browser opens at chat.dipoleml.com to authorize this device with your Google or Apple account. If your account uses two-factor sign-in, DCode asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. In restricted environments, use dcode login --no-browser to open the authorization URL yourself. Credentials are stored locally under your home directory and can be removed with dcode logout.

Your plan, usage, and API keys live on the dashboard.

Useful commands

| Command | What it does | | --- | --- | | dcode doctor | Check Node, your PATH, the DipoleML servers, sign-in, browser and git | | dcode plugins list | List installed plugins and marketplaces | | dcode skills list | List available skills | | dcode --licenses | Print open-source license notices | | dcode --version | Print the version | | dcode --help | Full command reference |
