Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

A CLI tool that generates a beautiful year-end wrapped for developers using Git data from any repository.

Installation

npm install -g wrap-it

Or use with npx (no installation required):

npx wrap-it

Usage

Navigate to any Git repository and run:

wrap-it

Or use the shorter alias:

wrap

The tool will:

  1. Analyze your Git history for the current year
  2. Display stats in your terminal
  3. Generate a beautiful PNG image (developer-wrapped-2025.png)

Requirements

  • Node.js 14 or higher
  • Git repository with commit history
  • For image generation: Cairo graphics library (see below)

Installing Cairo (for image generation)

macOS:

brew install pkg-config cairo pango libpng jpeg giflib librsvg

Ubuntu/Debian:

sudo apt-get install build-essential libcairo2-dev libpango1.0-dev libjpeg-dev libgif-dev librsvg2-dev
