Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@drazenbebic/eslint-config-next

Opinionated, shareable ESLint flat config for personal Next.js projects.

Composes the official eslint-config-next (Core Web Vitals + TypeScript) with Prettier, import sorting, unused-import removal, and perfectionist — a batteries-included setup from a single dependency.

Heads up: a personal config tuned to my preferences. Use it if you like, but it changes to suit my projects — pin a version if that matters.

Install

pnpm add -D @drazenbebic/eslint-config-next eslint prettier

All ESLint plugins are bundled. Peers you provide: ESLint ^9 || ^10 and Prettier ^3, plus Next.js >= 15 and TypeScript >= 5 — both already present in a typical Next.js + TS app. Requires Node >= 20 and flat config (no .eslintrc).

Usage

Create eslint.config.mjs at your project root:

import config from '@drazenbebic/eslint-config-next';

export default config;

Formatting runs through ESLint (prettier/prettier), but the style stays yours — add your own .prettierrc.

Overrides

The default export is a flat-config array, so anything you append wins:

import { globalIgnores } from 'eslint/config';

import config from '@drazenbebic/eslint-config-next';

const eslintConfig = [
  ...config,
  globalIgnores(['sanity.types.ts']), // e.g. Sanity TypeGen output
  { rules: { 'no-console': 'off' } },
];

export default eslintConfig;

What's inside

  • eslint-config-next — official Core Web Vitals + TypeScript rules.
  • Prettier (eslint-plugin-prettier + eslint-config-prettier) — formatting as a lint rule.
  • perfectionist — import grouping (side-effects → React/Next/Node → third-party → @/ alias → relative, with import type intermixed by path) plus sorted JSX props, named imports/exports, types, and arrays.
  • unused-imports — removes unused imports, warns on unused vars.
  • Core rules: no-console (allows warn/error), curly, and blank lines around if/for/try/return.
  • Ignores .next/, out/, build/, next-env.d.ts.
