Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@drumee/window-manager

v0.1.0-alpha.2

Published

Standalone MFS-independent Drumee multi-window UI capability.

Readme

@drumee/window-manager

An application-neutral CommonJS Window Manager for Drumee browser applications. It provides multiple independent windows, focus and stacking, retained geometry, header-handle dragging, all-edge resizing, optional generic drop targets, minimize/restore, maximize and side snapping.

The package runs above @drumee/ui-runtime. Pass the READY runtime when the manager is mounted in a Drumee application:

const { createWindowManager } = require("@drumee/window-manager");

const manager = createWindowManager({ workspace, runtime });
const editor = manager.open({
  title: "Editor",
  geometry: { left: 40, top: 30, width: 640, height: 420 },
  min_width: 360,
  min_height: 240,
  content: runtime.Skeletons.Note("Editor ready"),
  droppable: {
    accept: ".application-token",
    tolerance: "pointer",
    over(context) {},
    out(context) {},
    drop(context) {
      consume(context.payload);
    }
  }
});

content accepts one LETC Skeleton descriptor or an array of descriptors and feeds them into the real window-body LetcBox. A native DOM node is retained only as an explicit interoperability escape hatch.

droppable: false is the default. Drop callbacks receive generic DOM/jQuery UI context and an application-supplied payload; the manager assigns no business meaning to it.

Public API

createWindowManager(options) and new WindowManager(options) create a manager. Managers expose create, open, register, get, windows, activate, close and destroy. Managed windows expose open, geometry, applyGeometry, on, minimize, restore, toggleMaximize, snap, close and destroy.

ManagedWindow is registered as the real LETC kind managed_window. Its shell is composed through canonical Skeleton factories; window-handle, window-title, window-controls and window-body are normal LETC parts, and control services route through onUiEvent. getState() is the exclusive manager-scoped radio selection (1 or 0); lifecycle/window_status owns the separate created, open, minimized and closed lifecycle.

The ./browser entry installs the package skin and exports the same API as globalThis.DrumeeWindowManager. A CSS-only consumer may import ./skin.css.

Desktop mouse/pointer behavior is validated in Chromium. The header declares touch-action: none, but Phase 4.7 does not claim validated touch emulation; jquery-ui-touch-punch is intentionally not a runtime dependency.

Publication is intentionally separate from validation:

npm publish --tag next --access public
