Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Spawn worker pi agents in isolated Herdr panes for delegated task execution.

Readme

pi-herdr-worker

Spawn worker pi agents in isolated Herdr panes for delegated task execution. The primary agent acts as orchestrator, delegating work to isolated workers.

Install

pi install npm:@duskoide/pi-herdr-worker

Requirements

  • pi must be running inside a Herdr-managed pane (HERDR_ENV=1)
  • Herdr must be installed and running
  • Settings file at ~/.pi/agent/herdr-worker.json (optional — sensible defaults are built in)

Slash Commands

| Command | Usage | Description | |---------|-------|-------------| | /worker | /worker <prompt> [name] [model] [timeout] | Spawn worker with full control | | /workerp | /workerp <prompt> [model] | Quick spawn with auto-generated name | | /workerlist | /workerlist | List all running workers | | /workerkill | /workerkill <name> | Kill a specific worker |

Examples

/worker Implement the login page
/worker Review code worker-review claude-sonnet-5
/workerp Run the linter and fix errors
/workerlist
/workerkill worker-test-runner

The spawn_worker Tool

spawn_worker({
  prompt: "Run tests and report any failures",
  name: "worker-tests",
  model: "gpt-4o",
  timeout: 180000,
  direction: "right"
})

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description | |-----------|------|---------|-------------| | prompt | string | required | The task to send to the worker | | name | string | auto-generated | Unique worker name (lowercase, hyphens, max 31 chars) | | model | string | from settings | Model ID (e.g. gpt-4o, claude-sonnet-5) | | timeout | number | 120000 | Timeout in milliseconds | | direction | "right" | "down" | "right" | Pane split direction |

Settings

Configuration lives at ~/.pi/agent/herdr-worker.json:

{
  "defaultModel": "claude-sonnet-5",
  "allowedModels": ["gpt-4o", "claude-sonnet-5", "claude-sonnet-4-5", "gpt-4o-mini"],
  "defaultTimeout": 120000,
  "defaultDirection": "right"
}

How It Works

  1. Splits the current pane for an isolated terminal
  2. Launches a pi worker with the chosen model
  3. Submits the task and waits for completion
  4. Reads the worker's output
  5. Closes the pane and stops the worker automatically
