Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.1.1

Published

Bootstrap Edd's AI Operating System (skills, workflows, MCP servers, dev-env) with one command.

Readme

@edd_remonts/create-ai-os

npm version License: MIT Node ≥ 18

Bootstrap AI-OS — skills, workflows, MCP servers, and a replicable dev-env — with one command. Clones the canonical ai-os repo and delegates to its existing platform installer (setup/install-mac.sh or setup/install-windows.ps1).

Install

You don't install it — you run it. The whole point is a single npx invocation.

npx @edd_remonts/create-ai-os

There's nothing to add to your package.json and nothing to remove — this is a one-shot bootstrapper, not a dependency.

Usage

# Default — clones + installs into ./ai-os
npx @edd_remonts/create-ai-os

# Custom folder
npx @edd_remonts/create-ai-os ~/Projects/ai-os

# Clone only, skip running the installer
npx @edd_remonts/create-ai-os --clone-only /tmp/ai-os-preview

# Help / version
npx @edd_remonts/create-ai-os --help
npx @edd_remonts/create-ai-os --version

What it does

  1. Validates Node ≥ 18 and that git is on PATH.
  2. Clones https://github.com/eddremonts86/ai-os.git (shallow) into the target folder.
  3. Runs the platform installer with the target folder as its working directory:
    • macOS/Linux → setup/install-mac.sh
    • Windows → setup/install-windows.ps1
  4. Prints next steps (setup/verify.sh, CLAUDE.md, context/00_profile.md).

The installer itself is idempotent and owns its own confirmation prompts and DRY_RUN mode — this CLI never duplicates that logic, it only clones and delegates.

Full project docs

This package ships the CLI only. For the full AI-OS docs (architecture, skills, MCP servers, dev-env), see the ai-os README.
