Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@egov-moldova/mud-web-components

Vanilla HTML / JavaScript adapter for the MUD Design System — the official UI component library of the Republic of Moldova, developed by the Agency for Electronic Governance (eGov).

This package registers every Stencil-compiled MUD custom element (<mud-button>, <mud-input>, …) so they can be used in any HTML page or non-framework application. It is a thin re-export of the @egov-moldova/mud Stencil loader — no framework-specific build step is required.

For the full component source, design tokens, and Storybook, see the root @egov-moldova/mud package.

Install

yarn add @egov-moldova/mud-web-components @egov-moldova/mud
# or
npm install @egov-moldova/mud-web-components @egov-moldova/mud

Usage — with a bundler (Vite, webpack, esbuild, …)

import '@egov-moldova/mud/dist/mud/tokens/core.tokens.css';
import '@egov-moldova/mud/dist/mud/mud.css';
import { defineCustomElements } from '@egov-moldova/mud-web-components';

defineCustomElements();
<mud-button variant="primary"><button>Click me</button></mud-button>

Usage — plain HTML with import map

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <link
      rel="stylesheet"
      href="/node_modules/@egov-moldova/mud/dist/mud/tokens/core.tokens.css"
    />
    <link
      rel="stylesheet"
      href="/node_modules/@egov-moldova/mud/dist/mud/mud.css"

    <script type="importmap">
      {
        "imports": {
          "@egov-moldova/mud-web-components": "/node_modules/@egov-moldova/mud-web-components/dist/index.js",
          "@egov-moldova/mud/loader": "/node_modules/@egov-moldova/mud/loader/index.js"
        }
      }
    </script>
  </head>
  <body>
    <mud-button variant="primary"><button>Click me</button></mud-button>
    <script type="module">
      import { defineCustomElements } from '@egov-moldova/mud-web-components';
      defineCustomElements();
    </script>
  </body>
</html>

Usage — CDN via jsDelivr

<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@egov-moldova/mud/dist/mud/tokens/core.tokens.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@egov-moldova/mud/dist/mud/mud.css" />
<script type="module">
  import { defineCustomElements } from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@egov-moldova/mud-web-components/dist/index.js';
  defineCustomElements();
</script>

Local demo

From the repo root:

yarn build       # one-time: produces dist/ and loader/ for @egov-moldova/mud
yarn build.web   # compile @egov-moldova/mud-web-components
yarn demo.web # serve the demo at http://localhost:5174

The demo lives in demo/index.html and showcases <mud-button> variants + sizes.

Available components

Every component published by @egov-moldova/mud is registered. The full list is browseable in Storybook. Highlights include:

  • <mud-button> — primary action button
  • <mud-input>, <mud-textarea> — form fields
  • <mud-select>, <mud-date-picker> — selection controls
  • <mud-pagination-item>, <mud-toast-notification>, <mud-avatar> — and more

API

defineCustomElements(opts?: { resourcesUrl?: string; syncQueue?: boolean }) — registers every Stencil custom element on the current document. Returns a Promise<void> that resolves once all elements are registered.

setNonce(nonce: string) — set a CSP nonce that Stencil applies to injected <style> tags.

TypeScript users get full element type augmentation (HTMLMudButtonElement, HTMLMudInputElement, …) and prop interfaces via export type * from @egov-moldova/mud.
