Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Claw Messenger MCP server

Send an iMessage, text a phone number, or send SMS/RCS to a contact from any MCP-capable AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and others). Two-way: the agent can also wait for the human's reply. No Mac required; works from Linux, Docker, Windows, or any cloud.

Backed by Claw Messenger, the Mac-free iMessage, RCS, and SMS API for AI agents.

Tools

| Tool | What it does | | --- | --- | | send_text_message | Send a text to a phone number. iPhone recipients get an iMessage experience; everyone else falls back to RCS or SMS automatically. | | wait_for_reply | Wait for the next incoming message from a registered contact. | | register_contact | Register a phone number the agent may have conversations with. | | list_contacts | List registered contacts. | | check_readiness | Verify the key, plan, and listener are ready before the first send. |

Setup

  1. Sign up at clawmessenger.com and copy your API key (cm_live_...) from the dashboard.
  2. Add the server to your MCP client configuration:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "claw-messenger": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@emotion-machine/claw-messenger-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "CLAW_MESSENGER_API_KEY": "cm_live_YOUR_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}
  1. Register the phone number you want the agent to text (register_contact), then send a first message and confirm with wait_for_reply. Setup is proven only when a real reply reaches the agent; an accepted or delivered status alone is diagnostic.

Notes and limits

  • Messages route through a shared managed sending number; recipients see the conversation in Apple Messages (or their SMS/RCS app). You cannot bring your own number on self-serve plans.
  • Inbound messages are delivered only from registered contacts. Plans register 1 to 50 contacts and include 250 to 15,000 messages per month; see pricing.
  • Conversational use, not bulk: every self-serve plan caps first-time conversations at 20 distinct new recipients per rolling 24 hours.
