Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

ezStats MCP

This package provides the MCP wrapper for the ezStats agent API on https://go.ezstats.io/api/v1.

Published npm package:

@ezstats/ezstats-mcp

Modes

  • stdio: local package usage for desktop MCP clients
  • hosted: remote SSE endpoint intended to sit behind https://go.ezstats.io/mcp/sse

Environment

  • EZSTATS_API_URL
  • EZSTATS_API_KEY
  • EZSTATS_ALLOW_PROVISIONING
  • EZSTATS_MCP_HOST
  • EZSTATS_MCP_PORT
  • EZSTATS_MCP_BASE_PATH

Hosted auth

Hosted mode expects one of:

  • Authorization: Bearer <api_key>
  • X-EZSTATS-API-KEY: <api_key>
  • ?api_key=<api_key> for simple tests

Hosted MCP also supports account-level connector flows that use ezStats OAuth on top of the same /mcp/sse endpoint. That lets users connect Claude or ChatGPT at the account level without giving those products a reusable raw API key.

If EZSTATS_ALLOW_PROVISIONING=true, unauthenticated hosted sessions may still use create_account.

Run locally

npx -y @ezstats/ezstats-mcp

Run hosted mode

npm install
npm run start:hosted

Tool coverage

The package wraps the full first-pass /api/v1 surface:

  • provisioning and site setup
  • site discovery for listing accessible sites and resolving a site by domain
  • tracking verification and onboarding
  • analytics, recent visit summaries, SEO, companies, heatmaps, anomalies, and recommendations
  • goal, alert, competitor, keyword, report, and export management
  • billing status, plans, upgrades, approvals, invites, and API key rotation

For multi-site users, the recommended MCP workflow is:

  1. call list_sites
  2. optionally call find_site_by_domain
  3. use the returned site_id with analytics or management tools

These tools are scoped to the authenticated ezStats user and only return sites that user can access.

Free plan

create_account supports plan=free for the agent-only Free plan.

The Free plan includes core analytics, up to 3 goals, and 10,000 pageviews per month.

Premium capabilities such as SEO, keyword tracking, competitor monitoring, heatmaps, funnels, email reports, Google Analytics import, company intelligence, and anomaly detection require a paid plan.

Human Setup

Inside the ezStats dashboard, open Billing & Usage and use the Connect Your AI page to:

  • connect Claude with account-level OAuth using automatic client registration
  • connect ChatGPT with the current account-level setup flow
  • create or rotate an API key
  • copy the hosted MCP URL
  • copy ready-to-paste connection examples for supported AI clients
