Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

npm-update-interactive (nui)

A small command line tool to update specific npm packages interactively.

This tool is heavy inspired by npm-check-updates.

In contrast to npm-check-updates, nui focus on changing the version of specific packages and allows manually selecting the new version for a package.

Installation

npm install -g @fabiankachlock/nui

Usage

nui

This launches nui in interactive mode, where you can select which packages to update and which version to use.

Features

  • automatic package.json location (in the current directory or any parent directory)
  • automatic package manager detection (supports npm, yarn, pnpm)
  • filter packages by name or version
  • filter new versions

Global Options

Commands

auto

nui auto [options]

The auto command automatically updates all packages based on the provided options.
