Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@fazelstudio/codemirror-lang-prisma

NPM version

Prisma Schema Language (.prisma) support for the CodeMirror code editor. Built with a full Lezer grammar covering all Prisma constructs, syntax highlighting, code folding, automatic indentation, and autocomplete.

Features

  • Full grammardatasource, generator, model, enum, type blocks
  • Field declarations — scalar types, optional (?), list ([]) modifiers
  • Attributes — field-level (@id, @default(), @unique, @relation(), @map(), @updatedAt, @ignore) and block-level (@@map(), @@unique(), @@index(), @@id(), @@ignore)
  • Doc comments (///) — highlighted separately from regular comments (//)
  • Autocomplete — keywords, types, attributes, and built-in functions
  • Code folding — fold blocks by { }
  • Auto indentation — proper indentation inside blocks
  • Dual output — ESM + CJS + TypeScript declarations

Installation

npm install @fazelstudio/codemirror-lang-prisma

Usage

Basic (syntax highlighting only)

import { EditorView, basicSetup } from "codemirror"
import { prisma } from "@fazelstudio/codemirror-lang-prisma"

new EditorView({
  parent: document.body,
  doc: `model User {\n  id    Int    @id @default(autoincrement())\n  email String @unique\n}`,
  extensions: [basicSetup, prisma()],
})

With autocomplete

import { EditorView, basicSetup } from "codemirror"
import { prisma, prismaAutocomplete } from "@fazelstudio/codemirror-lang-prisma"

new EditorView({
  parent: document.body,
  extensions: [basicSetup, prisma(), prismaAutocomplete],
})

Custom completion source

import { prismaCompletionSource } from "@fazelstudio/codemirror-lang-prisma"

// Use with your own completion config
const myCompletion = autocompletion({
  override: [prismaCompletionSource],
})

API

prisma() → LanguageSupport

Returns a LanguageSupport instance with the Prisma grammar, syntax highlighting, indentation, and code folding.

prismaLanguage: LRLanguage

The underlying LRLanguage object for advanced usage.

prismaAutocomplete: Extension

An autocomplete extension that provides completions for Prisma keywords, types, attributes, and functions.

prismaCompletionSource: CompletionSource

A completion source function that can be used with @codemirror/autocomplete's autocompletion({ override: [...] }).

Autocomplete completions

| Category | Items | |----------|-------| | Block keywords | model, enum, type, datasource, generator | | Scalar types | String, Int, Boolean, DateTime, Float, Json, Bytes, Decimal, BigInt | | Field attributes | @id, @default(), @unique, @relation(), @map(), @updatedAt, @ignore | | Block attributes | @@map(), @@unique(), @@index(), @@id(), @@ignore | | Functions | autoincrement(), now(), cuid(), uuid(), dbgenerated(), env() | | Config keys | provider, url, output, binaryTargets, previewFeatures |

Known limitations

  • dbgenerated("...") SQL content is highlighted as a plain string, not as nested SQL.
  • Schema validation (e.g. checking @relation references) is out of scope — this package only provides syntax highlighting, parsing, and autocomplete, not a language server.
  • No multi-file import support (Prisma preview feature, still evolving).
