Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Readme

A terminal Pokédex with fuzzy search, form selection, sprites, stats, abilities, evolutions, flavor text, and damage matchups.

Requirements

  • macOS, Linux, WSL, Git Bash, or Windows PowerShell/CMD
  • Node.js 18 or newer when installing from npm or using npx
  • A Unicode terminal with 24-bit color support
  • Kitty graphics support for best sprite rendering, such as Kitty or WezTerm; other terminals fall back to block-rendered sprites
  • Internet access

Install

npm install -g @fbb.sh/pkdx

or run without installing:

npx @fbb.sh/pkdx

The npm package installs the native binary package for your platform. Supported npm binaries are macOS arm64/x64, glibc Linux arm64/x64, and Windows x64.

Run

Start the app:

pkdx

or start with an initial query:

pkdx pikachu
