Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

API options for react-native apps to connect to the Farcaster network

Readme

@fcrn/api

APIs for interacting with the Farcaster network, targeting React Native use cases.

Features

  • Register a signer via Warpcast app deeplink + API
  • Fetch customized feeds or channels via the Neynar API
  • Publish to the Farcaster network via your registered Signer and direct Hub connection

Installation

Install @fcrn/api with the package manager of your choice

npm install @farcaster/hub-nodejs
yarn add @farcaster/hub-nodejs
pnpm install @farcaster/hub-nodejs

Example Usage

Register a Signer via Warpcast.API()

import { Warpcast } from "@fcrn/api";
import { signer, eth } from "@fcrn/crypto";
import { APP_FID, APP_MNEMONIC } from "@env";
import { SignedKeyRequestResult } from "@fcrn/api/warpcast";

const connectWithWarpcast = async () => {
    // Step 1 => App generates a new ed25519 keypair
    const key = new signer.Key();
    saveSecureValue(StorageKeys.PENDING_KEY, key.getPrivateKeyString());
    // Step 2 => Generate a Signed Key Request signature with "app FID"
    const address = new eth.Address(APP_MNEMONIC);
    const deadline = Math.floor(Date.now() / 1000) + 60 * 60 * 24; // signature is valid for 1 day
    const signature = await address.signKeyRequest(
      APP_FID,
      key.getPublicKey(),
      deadline,
    );
    // Step 3 => Call warpcast API to get deep link and polling token
    const signedKeyParams: Warpcast.SignedKeyRequestParams = {
      key: key.getPublicKey(),
      signature,
      requestFid: APP_FID,
      deadline,
    };
    const signedKeyResponse = await new Warpcast.API().postSignedKeyRequest(
      signedKeyParams,
    );
    setPollingToken(signedKeyResponse.token);
    Linking.openURL(signedKeyResponse.deeplinkUrl);
  };

Fetch a Users Feed via Neynar API

import { NEYNAR_API_KEY } from "@env";
import { Neynar } from "@fcrn/api";
import { CastV2 } from "@fcrn/api/neynar/feed-types";

export const fetchHomeFeedByFid = async (fid: string): Promise<CastV2[]> => {
  const neynarAPI = new Neynar.API(NEYNAR_API_KEY);
  return await neynarAPI.fetchFeedByFid(fid);
};

See fcrn-example-app for more details

Like a post via Direct Hub connection

import { CastV2 } from "@fcrn/api/neynar/feed-types";
import { Hub } from "@fcrn/api";
import { signer } from "@fcrn/crypto";

import { HUB_URL } from "@env";

const toggleLike = async (castHash, isLiked, authorFid, likeCount) => {
    setLikeStatus({
      ...likeStatus,
      [castHash]: {
        isLiked: !isLiked,
        likeCount: isLiked ? likeCount - 1 : likeCount + 1,
      },
    });
    const hubApi = new Hub.API(HUB_URL);
    const signer_key_string = await getSecureValue(StorageKeys.SIGNING_KEY);
    const signer_key = signer.stringToUint8Array(signer_key_string);
    await hubApi.likeCast(
      authorFid,
      castHash,
      signer_key,
      isLiked,
      connectedFid,
    );
  };
