Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@fireact.dev/app

This package contains the core React frontend application for Fireact.dev. It is designed to be a comprehensive foundation for building modern SaaS applications with Firebase, React, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS.

Overview

The @fireact.dev/app package provides all the necessary UI components, pages, and client-side logic for a Fireact application. It handles key functionalities such as:

  • User authentication and management
  • Role-based access control
  • Team member invitations
  • Subscription interfaces and management

This package is built with Vite, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS, ensuring a modern and efficient development experience.

Installation

This package is primarily intended to be used as part of a complete Fireact application created via the create-fireact-app CLI tool. It is not typically installed or used in isolation.

To create a new Fireact application that includes this package, follow these steps:

  1. Install the CLI (if you haven't already):

    npm install -g create-fireact-app
  2. Create a new project:

    create-fireact-app <your-project-name>

Replace <your-project-name> with the desired name for your new application.

  3. Follow the prompts: The CLI will guide you through selecting your Firebase project and configuring Stripe.

  4. After creation: Navigate into your new project directory:

    cd <your-project-name>

Then, build the application and functions, and start the emulators:

npm run build && cd functions && npm run build && cd ..
    firebase emulators:start

For Stripe webhook testing, in a separate terminal:

    stripe listen --forward-to http://127.0.0.1:5001/<your-firebase-project-id>/us-central1/stripeWebhook

Remember to update functions/src/config/stripe.config.json with the new webhook endpoint secret and rebuild functions (cd functions && npm build) if the webhook secret changes.

Development

When developing within the main Fireact.dev source repository, changes to this package are managed as part of the monorepo. Refer to the root source/README.md for detailed development setup and testing instructions.
