Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Meta-progression primitives: upgrade tracks, drop-roll with pity, unlock DAG, tier resolution, collectible registry

Readme

@flare-engine/progression

Meta-progression primitives: geometric upgrade tracks, pity-aware weighted drop rolling, unlock DAG, tier resolution, and collectible-unlock registry. Pure, zero-alloc on hot paths. Depends on @flare-engine/math.

Install

bun add @flare-engine/progression

Usage

import {
  createUpgradeTrack,
  createDropTable,
  rollDrop,
  createUnlockDag,
  resolveTier,
  createCollectibleRegistry,
} from '@flare-engine/progression';

// Upgrade track — geometric price curve
const track = createUpgradeTrack({ base: 500, growth: 1.5, cap: 10 });
const price = track.price(3); // 500 * 1.5^3
const wallet = 1000;
const result = track.buy(wallet, 3); // { ok, wallet, level }

// Drop roll with pity — create once, reuse across frames (zero-alloc rollInto)
const entries = [
  { item: 'rare' as const, weight: 8 },
  { item: 'common' as const, weight: 60 },
];
const table = createDropTable(entries);
const pity = { rare: 0, common: 0 };
const thresholds = { rare: 25 };
const isAllowed = (_item: 'rare' | 'common') => true;

// Hot path — zero-alloc in-place roll
const out = { item: 'none' as 'rare' | 'common' | 'none', pity: { ...pity } };
table.rollInto(0.0, 0.0, 0.12, pity, thresholds, isAllowed, out);

// Cold path / test helper — allocating wrapper
const result2 = rollDrop(table, 0.0, 0.0, 0.12, pity, thresholds);

// Unlock DAG
const dag = createUnlockDag([
  { id: 'b', requires: ['a'] },
  { id: 'a', requires: [] },
]);
const frontier = dag.frontier(new Set(['a']));

// Tier resolve
const tier = resolveTier([{ at: 1, tier: 'bronze' }, { at: 10, tier: 'silver' }], 5);

// Collectible registry
const reg = createCollectibleRegistry(['item-1', 'item-2', 'item-3'], 'set-complete');
const reg2 = reg.unlock('item-1').unlock('item-2').unlock('item-3');
reg2.isCapstone; // true
