Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Crypto Watcher CLI ·

Cryptocurrency price watcher packaged in a simple CLI app

Installation

npm install -g @fogwarts/crypto-watcher-cli

Running the CLI

crypto-cli

Options

  • -c, --currency [value]
    • Currency in which the cryptocurrency prices will be displayed (defaults to "USD")
  • -g, --gainers
    • Number of top gainers to display (defaults to 10)
  • -h, --help
    • Output usage information
  • -i, --investments
    • Investments file location (absolute path) (csv formatted) (defaults to "")
  • -l, --losers
    • Number of top losers to display (defaults to 10)
  • -p, --poll
    • Polling interval (defaults to 60000)
  • -t, --tickers [value]
    • A comma separated list of cryptocurrency tickers to display (defaults to "BTC,ETH,XRP,LTC,USDT,BCH,BSV,EOS,BNB,XTZ")
  • -u, --url [value]
    • The webserver url (defaults to "https://crypto.api.fogwarts.dev")
  • -v, --version
    • Output the version number

Investments file format

In order not to pass astronomic values in the console, investments are read from an external file whose format is as follows:

Coin Symbol, Total number of Units, Total investment value (in USD)
