Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Community node for DeepSeek V4 in n8n.

Handles DeepSeek's reasoning properly: the model's reasoning_content (thinking) is returned separately from the final answer, instead of being dropped or breaking the request like it does with generic OpenAI-compatible nodes.

Nodes

  • DeepSeek — action node. Send messages to a DeepSeek V4 model with reasoning, tools (function calling) and JSON output. Output splits content, reasoning_content and tool_calls.
  • DeepSeek Chat Model — sub-node for the AI Agent. Plug it into an Agent to use DeepSeek V4 as the reasoning brain, with tool calling.

Models: deepseek-v4-pro, deepseek-v4-flash.

Install

In n8n: Settings → Community Nodes → Install → @frierensz_/n8n-nodes-deepseek.

Credentials

Create a DeepSeek API credential with your key from https://platform.deepseek.com/api_keys. Base URL defaults to https://api.deepseek.com/v1.

Develop

npm install
npm run build

Point n8n at the built package with N8N_CUSTOM_EXTENSIONS=/path/to/n8n-nodes-deepseek, or npm link it into ~/.n8n/custom.
