Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Official client for FundFacts API: structured fund & ETF data from any ISIN (key facts, TER, risk, holdings, exposure, performance), plus batch, search, portfolio look-through and overlap.

@fundfactsapi/sdk

Official JavaScript / TypeScript client for FundFacts API: any fund or ETF ISIN → one structured JSON factsheet (key facts, TER, SRRI risk indicator, derived profile, top holdings, sector / country / asset breakdowns, calendar and annualised returns, monthly series, volatility, Sharpe, max drawdown), read from the documents each fund house publishes and refreshed every 24 hours. Zero dependencies; Node 18+, Bun, Deno, edge runtimes.

npm install @fundfactsapi/sdk
import { FundFacts } from "@fundfactsapi/sdk";

const ff = new FundFacts({ apiKey: process.env.FUNDFACTS_API_KEY }); // free key at https://fundfactsapi.com/signup

const fund = await ff.getFund("IE00B4L5Y983");
console.log(fund.name, fund.data.headlineMetrics.ter, fund.data.riskRating, fund.data.profile.category);

// several at once (1 credit per ISIN answered)
const batch = await ff.getFunds(["IE00B4L5Y983", "IE00B3RBWM25", "LU1681043599"]);

// names → ISINs (free)
const hits = await ff.search("msci world");

// what a portfolio actually holds
const look = await ff.portfolio([{ isin: "IE00B4L5Y983", weight: 60 }, { isin: "IE00B3RBWM25", weight: 40 }]);
console.log(look.fees.weightedTer, look.sector.items.slice(0, 5));

// how much two ETFs overlap
const ov = await ff.overlap(["IE00B4L5Y983", "IE00B3RBWM25"]);
console.log(ov.pairs[0].overlap, "% in common");

Every method returns the parsed JSON body and throws FundFactsError (status, code, message, retryAfter) on a non-2xx status. Payloads are cached in memory until their expiresAt. A fund nobody has loaded before can take 15–90 seconds the first time; the default timeout is 300 s.
