Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@fureinzz/fureinzz-collapse

v1.1.2

Published

Adds the ability to collapse the target element

Readme

<fureinzz-collapse>

npm Published on webcomponents.org license

fureinzz-collapse creates a collapsible block of content.

  • Accessible - Collapse uses the animation API for a smooth transition, not javascript, so the component does not load your system for rendering animation.

  • Works with any framework - the component is based on the native customElements technology, which makes it possible to use it together with any library or framework

  • Works with Shadow DOM - Collapse works by using the modern technology of Shadow DOM. This approach improves the experience of using web components

Installation

We recommend using npm for installation

npm install @fureinzz/fureinzz-collapse

Usage

Before using the dialog you must import the component module: ( import "@fureinzz/fureinzz-collapse" ). After adding the module, you can use fureinzz-collapse in your app

To expand the content you must specify the opened attribute

<fureinzz-collapse opened>
  <span> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipisicing elit.</span>
</fureinzz-collapse>

You can also expand the content using the opened property or the .open() and .toggle() methods

const collapse = document.querySelector("fureinzz-collapse")
collapse.open()

Styling

The component is easy to style, so you can style it as you like

Example of what your collapse might look like:

Properties

When initializing a component each of the properties presented is false by default

  • opened - If true, the contents of the collapse will open
  • horizontal - If true, the orientation will be changed to horizontal
  • noAnimation - If true, animation will be disabled

Example of how you can set a property in an html file:

<fureinzz-collapse opened no-animation>
    <span> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipisicing elit.</span>
</fureinzz-collapse>

Events

The dialog can dispatch 3 types of events to the external environment

  • opened-changed - Event that is dispatched when the opened state changes
  • animation-opened-changed - Event that is dispatched when the animation transition ends
    const collapse = document.querySelector("fureinzz-collapse")

    collapse.addEventListener("opened-changed", event => {
        const detail = event.detail

        // If the collapse was opened
        console.log(detail) // {opened: true}
    })
