Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@g1itest/cli

Internal developer distribution and orchestration CLI for the Ginesys Design System.

@g1itest/cli (binary: ginesys-ui) provides automated scaffolding, dependency management, theme configuration, health diagnostics, and AI context distribution for Next.js applications across the Ginesys enterprise.

🔒 Security Notice

Internal Asset: The Ginesys Design System is proprietary enterprise software.

  • Never publish to public npm.
  • Distributed exclusively through authenticated private registries (e.g. GitHub Packages or internal Verdaccio/Nexus).
  • The CLI never prompts for or stores authentication credentials in project source code.

🚀 Quick Start

Initialize Ginesys Design System in a supported Next.js project:

# Minimal installation (Tokens + UI primitives)
npx @g1itest/cli init

# Full enterprise suite (Tokens, UI, Grid, Date-UI, Templates, AI Context)
npx @g1itest/cli init --mode full --ai

📦 Available Commands

1. init

Initializes Ginesys packages, theme imports, and configuration in the current Next.js project.

ginesys-ui init [options]

Options:

  • --mode <minimal|full>: Install minimal (@g1itest/tokens, @g1itest/ui) or full suite (@g1itest/tokens, @g1itest/ui, @g1itest/grid, @g1itest/date-ui, @g1itest/templates). Default: minimal.
  • --ai: Install .ginesys/ containing machine-readable component/pattern/template registries and AI.md operational guide.
  • --dry-run: Preview planned filesystem and dependency modifications without writing to disk.
  • --template: Scaffold a starter component (components/ginesys-welcome.tsx).
  • --theme <system|light|dark>: Configure default theme preference (default: system).
  • -y, --yes: Skip interactive prompts with safe defaults.

2. add <package|capability>

Adds a specific Ginesys capability and resolves required peer dependencies.

ginesys-ui add grid # Adds @g1itest/grid + ag-grid peer dependencies
ginesys-ui add date-ui # Adds @g1itest/date-ui + date-fns peer dependencies
ginesys-ui add templates # Adds @g1itest/templates + grid + date-ui prerequisites
ginesys-ui add DateSelector # Resolves to @g1itest/date-ui automatically

3. list [category]

Discovers available primitives, composite patterns, and page templates from the single-source-of-truth machine-readable registry.

ginesys-ui list # Overview of all registered capabilities
ginesys-ui list components # Lists all 19 primitives & analytical components
ginesys-ui list patterns # Lists composite patterns (FilterBarWithTable, etc.)
ginesys-ui list templates # Lists page templates (WorkbookBuilderPage, etc.)
ginesys-ui list --json # Machine-readable output for AI agents & CI

4. doctor

Runs a multi-category diagnostic verifying:

  • Environment: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Package Manager
  • Packages: Installed Ginesys versions matching official release manifest
  • Peer Dependencies: lucide-react, clsx, tailwind-merge, date-fns, ag-grid
  • Theme: Token and UI CSS imports present in global stylesheet
  • AI Context: Integrity and version of .ginesys/ registry files
  • Configuration: Validity of ginesys.config.json
ginesys-ui doctor

5. update

Aligns installed Ginesys package versions with the official release manifest.

ginesys-ui update # Prompts before applying version updates
ginesys-ui update --dry-run # Previews available package updates
ginesys-ui update --yes # Applies updates without confirmation

🛠️ Configuration File: ginesys.config.json
