cafe is the command-line interface for GitCafe.

Install

Requires Bun 1.2 or newer. The CLI does not run under Node.

bun install -g @gitcafe/cli
# or run without installing:
bunx @gitcafe/cli --help

Quick start

cafe auth login          # device-flow login (also sets up git credentials)
cafe repo create my-app  # create a repository
cafe pr create           # open a pull request from the current branch
cafe issue list          # list issues

Upgrading from a CLI configured for api.gitcafe.dev? Copy that login to the new canonical host and configure Git credentials for new git.cafe remotes:

cafe legacy migrate

The legacy login and existing gitcafe.dev remotes are preserved.

Pull request stacks

From a repository clone, preview stack publication and restacking before the write:

cafe stack submit --name my-change --dry-run
cafe stack list --state completed
cafe stack status --stack <number>
cafe stack restack --stack <number> --dry-run
cafe stack merge --stack <number> --dry-run

Stacks work with Git, jj, and Sapling. Run cafe stack --help and cafe stack restack --help for submit, link, current and completed stack history, restack, merge, operation resume, and cancellation options.

Persist a strict workspace default globally or for the current repository:

cafe config set stack.vcs jj --global
cafe config set stack.vcs sapling --repo-scope

An explicit --vcs git|jj|sapling wins for one command. Otherwise Cafe uses repository, host, then global configuration before auto-detection.
