Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@gitlab/orbit

The GitLab Knowledge Graph (Orbit) local CLI. Indexes a repository on your machine into a local DuckDB property graph and answers code-structure queries (definitions, references, imports, files, directories) over it.

Install

npm install -g @gitlab/orbit

This wrapper package selects and installs the prebuilt binary for your platform via optional dependencies:

  • @gitlab/orbit-darwin-arm64
  • @gitlab/orbit-darwin-x64
  • @gitlab/orbit-linux-arm64
  • @gitlab/orbit-linux-x64
  • @gitlab/orbit-win32-x64

Linux binaries are fully static (musl) and run on both glibc and musl distributions.

Usage

orbit index /path/to/your/repo
orbit help
