Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@global-torque/ui-kit

Generic Vue forms, images, URL state and composed controls.

Prepared 0.1.4 source-SFC candidate. This version is not advertised as an npm release until its release report records publication. Install the reviewed .tgz during candidate verification, with Vue 3.5 and Reka UI 2.10.

Consumer setup

Use Vite with @vitejs/plugin-vue, Tailwind CSS 4 and its Vite plugin. Install Sass when compiling the composed form/grid styles. Components ship as editable TypeScript and Vue source. A raw Node import of a .vue entry is unsupported; use a Vue-aware SSR build with these packages in ssr.noExternal. No source aliases or private workspace checkout are needed.

@import 'tailwindcss';
@import '@global-torque/design-tokens/css';
@import '@global-torque/ui-primitives/styles/theme';
@import '@global-torque/ui-kit/styles';

The host supplies shadcn theme roles (--background, --foreground, --primary, --primary-foreground, --secondary, --secondary-foreground, --muted, --muted-foreground, --accent, --accent-foreground, --destructive, --border, --input, --ring, --radius) and a font. Use a class or data-theme="dark" for dark mode. No product preset, font or logo is installed. The starter includes a complete neutral example theme. Theme styles register package files as Tailwind sources; retain the imports during CSS compilation.

Supported imports

  • @global-torque/ui-kit/badge-tone
  • @global-torque/ui-kit/breakpoints
  • @global-torque/ui-kit/file-uploader
  • @global-torque/ui-kit/filter
  • @global-torque/ui-kit/form

<script setup lang="ts">
import { ref } from 'vue';
import { VFormGroup, VFormInput } from '@global-torque/ui-kit/form';
import { VImage } from '@global-torque/ui-kit/image';
const name = ref('');
</script>
<template>
  <VFormGroup label="Display name"><VFormInput v-model="name" /></VFormGroup>
  <VImage src="/cover.svg" alt="Project overview" style="aspect-ratio: 16 / 9" />
</template>

Form fields use controlled modelValue / update:modelValue; the host supplies validation errors to VFormGroup. Checkbox groups emit detached selections. VImage reserves host-specified dimensions, reports loading and native events, and handles errors with neutral fallback artwork. URL composables synchronize host-owned query keys; useReactiveQuery(initialSearch) supports request-local SSR state, attaches browser observers on mount and removes listeners on unmount. useSyncWithUrl accepts explicit parser/serializer and optional router adapters. Uploader callbacks own persistence; widgets do not choose API endpoints. Timeline router-link rendering requires the host to register that component.

Private compliance validation rules, schema reference defaults, branding helpers and wildcard/deep imports are intentionally absent. Define product validation and eligibility in the consuming application. This release is not a migration facade for every historical internal UI export.

Neutral form validation

@global-torque/ui-kit/form-validation exports useFormValidation, useForm, useFormErrors and scrollToError. It creates one standard AJV validator per form. Hosts may provide FormValidationOptions hooks for an AJV instance, schema composition and model preparation. Default schema composition clones both inputs and gives frontend values precedence over backend values while preserving required fields and enums.

Product keywords, eligibility rules, reference defaults and policy constants remain in the consuming domain package. Reset and schema replacement clear both validation state and field errors; scrollToError is safe during SSR.

Maintenance

Global Torque frontend maintainers own the package. See LICENSE, NOTICE.md, SUPPORT.md, SECURITY.md and CHANGELOG.md. Run type and behavior tests, then verify the exact artifact in npm/pnpm, browser and SSR consumers before release.
