Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Grafloria Dashboards is an MIT JavaScript dashboard layout library: draggable, resizable widgets on a grid or a splitter layout, with undo, nesting and persistence built in, for Angular, React, Vue or plain JavaScript.

Product page: https://grafloria.com/dashboards/ · Tutorial: https://grafloria.com/learn/javascript-dashboards/ · Live demo: https://grafloria.com/demos/dashboard/fluid-board.html

npm install @grafloria/dashboard @grafloria/element @grafloria/renderer @grafloria/engine
import { render, dashboard } from '@grafloria/dashboard';

const spec = dashboard({
  columns: 12,
  sizing: 'fit', // 'fit' never scrolls; 'grow' extends the board
  dragHandle: true, // the caption strip is the handle; { grip: true } paints a grip
  widgets: [
    { id: 'rev',   kind: 'kpi',  span: 3, data: { label: 'Revenue', value: '$6.8M', delta: 12.4 } },
    { id: 'trend', kind: 'line', span: 9, rows: 2, title: 'Revenue vs target', data: { series: [{ name: 'Revenue', values: [4, 5, 6] }], labels: ['J', 'F', 'M'] } },
  ],
});
render(spec, document.getElementById('board'));   // the element needs a real height

spec.handle.setLayout('split'); // the splitter layout, live
spec.handle.toJSON(); // the whole board: widgets, nesting, data, layout

Two layouts on one document: the 12-column grid with push-down re-packing, and layout: 'split', the splitter surface BI dashboard designers use (one widget fills, the next halves, dividers are percentages). Containers nest a grid inside a widget; every gesture is one undo step; keyboard and screen-reader operation are built in; the same engine exports the board as SVG, PNG or PDF.

Native components: <grafloria-dashboard> in @grafloria/angular, <GrafloriaDashboard> in @grafloria/react and @grafloria/vue.

This package re-exports the dashboard kit of @grafloria/element under its own name; the code and the versions are the same. Part of Grafloria, an MIT diagram and dashboard engine for JavaScript: one headless core, native Angular, React and Vue bindings, one document format and one undo stack.
