Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

GridStorm master-detail plugin — expandable detail rows with nested data

Readme

@gridstorm/plugin-master-detail

Enterprise master-detail plugin for GridStorm. Expand rows to reveal detail data, with support for async data fetching, caching, and nested grid configurations.

Installation

pnpm add @gridstorm/plugin-master-detail

Quick Start

import { createGrid } from '@gridstorm/core';
import { MasterDetailPlugin } from '@gridstorm/plugin-master-detail';

const grid = createGrid({
  columns: [
    { field: 'name', headerName: 'Employee' },
    { field: 'department', headerName: 'Department' },
  ],
  rowData: [
    { id: 'e1', name: 'Alice', department: 'Engineering' },
    { id: 'e2', name: 'Bob', department: 'Marketing' },
  ],
  getRowId: (params) => params.data.id,
  plugins: [
    MasterDetailPlugin({
      getDetailRowData: async (params) => {
        const response = await fetch(`/api/tasks?employeeId=${params.node.id}`);
        const tasks = await response.json();
        params.successCallback(tasks);
        return tasks;
      },
      detailRowHeight: 250,
      keepDetailRows: true,
    }),
  ],
});

// Expand a master row
grid.commandBus.dispatch('detail:expand', { nodeId: 'e1' });

// Collapse a master row
grid.commandBus.dispatch('detail:collapse', { nodeId: 'e1' });

// Toggle
grid.commandBus.dispatch('detail:toggle', { nodeId: 'e1' });

Commands

| Command | Payload | Description | |---------|---------|-------------| | detail:expand | { nodeId } | Expands a master row to show its detail row | | detail:collapse | { nodeId } | Collapses a master row, hiding the detail row | | detail:toggle | { nodeId } | Toggles the expanded state of a master row | | detail:expandAll | {} | Expands all master rows | | detail:collapseAll | {} | Collapses all master rows | | detail:refreshDetail | { nodeId } | Clears cached data and re-fetches for a master row |

Events

| Event | Description | |-------|-------------| | detail:opened | Emitted when a detail row is expanded | | detail:closed | Emitted when a detail row is collapsed |

Options

interface MasterDetailOptions {
  getDetailRowData: (params: DetailDataParams) => any[] | Promise<any[]>;
  detailGridOptions?: (params: DetailGridParams) => any;
  detailRowHeight?: number | ((params: DetailHeightParams) => number);
  keepDetailRows?: boolean;     // Default: false
  embedFullWidthRows?: boolean; // Default: true
}

Detail Row Behavior

  • Detail rows are inserted in displayedRowIds directly after their master row
  • Detail row nodes have detail: true and selectable: false
  • Detail row IDs are prefixed with __detail__ followed by the master row ID
  • When keepDetailRows is true, cached data and row nodes persist across collapse/expand cycles
  • When keepDetailRows is false (default), detail data is cleared on collapse and re-fetched on expand
