Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

SvelteKit framework adapter for Grove. Components, layouts, design tokens, and a default template.

@grove-dev/svelte

SvelteKit framework adapter for Grove.

A thin layer of Svelte components, layouts, and design tokens, on top of the framework-agnostic @grove-dev/core and @grove-dev/ui. Includes a default templates/default/ directory that grove new --framework svelte copies into a new project.

pnpm add @grove-dev/svelte

Status

This package is a skeleton at the moment. It ships:

  • src/index.ts — re-exports @grove-dev/ui
  • src/styles.css — placeholder design tokens
  • templates/default/package.json — SvelteKit 2 + Svelte 5 wiring

The component library, routes, and theme are still to be built. The architectural shape is locked: anything framework-specific lives in this package, anything generic stays in @grove-dev/core and @grove-dev/ui.

What it will ship (roadmap)

src/
├── components/        # ItemCard.svelte, CategoryGrid.svelte, HealthBadge.svelte,
│                      # ScoreBars.svelte, DirectoryFilters.svelte, ...
├── layouts/           # BaseLayout.svelte
├── styles.css         # design tokens + Tailwind entry
└── index.ts           # re-exports @grove-dev/ui

templates/
└── default/           # full SvelteKit starter: routes/, lib/, static/,
                       # data/, .github/, svelte.config.js, tailwind.config.mjs

Usage in a space

<!-- src/routes/+page.svelte -->
<script lang="ts">
  import { ItemCard } from "@grove-dev/svelte/components/ItemCard.svelte";
  import { BaseLayout } from "@grove-dev/svelte/layouts/BaseLayout.svelte";
  import "@grove-dev/svelte/styles.css";
  import apps from "$lib/data/generated/apps.json";
</script>

<BaseLayout title="My Grove space">
  {#each apps as app (app.slug)}
    <ItemCard {app} />
  {/each}
</BaseLayout>

Components are imported by path. The barrel re-exports @grove-dev/ui so generic helpers (filterRecords, slugForCategory, etc.) are available from the same import.

Layering

@grove-dev/svelte is the third layer of the Grove stack:

  1. @grove-dev/core — schemas, importers, build pipeline (headless).
  2. @grove-dev/ui — framework-agnostic UI primitives.
  3. @grove-dev/svelte ← you are here — Svelte components, layouts, template.

Development

pnpm --filter @grove-dev/svelte build
pnpm --filter @grove-dev/svelte check
