Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@guidemode/session-processing

v0.1.45

Published

Shared session processing, metrics calculation, AI processing, and UI components for GuideMode

Readme

@guidemode/session-processing

The analytics engine that powers GuideMode.

Parses AI coding sessions from any provider and generates actionable insights. One parser for all AI tools.

Why This Matters

Before: Each AI tool had different formats → 5+ custom parsers → maintenance nightmare

Now: Unified canonical format → 1 parser → consistent analytics for all providers

Installation

npm install @guidemode/session-processing

Usage

Parse Any Provider

import { ParserRegistry } from '@guidemode/session-processing/parsers'

const registry = new ParserRegistry()
const parser = registry.getParser('claude-code') // or gemini, copilot, codex, opencode

const parsed = parser.parse(sessionContent)
// Works the same for all providers!

Calculate Metrics

import { CanonicalSessionProcessor } from '@guidemode/session-processing/processors'

const processor = new CanonicalSessionProcessor()
const metrics = await processor.processMetrics(sessionContent, context)

// Get: performance, usage, quality, engagement, error metrics

Key Features

  • One Parser - Handles all AI providers (Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Codex, OpenCode)
  • Canonical Format - Universal message structure
  • Rich Metrics - Performance, usage, quality, engagement, errors, context
  • Provider Metadata - Preserves provider-specific features
  • UI Components - React components for session display

Supported Providers

All via the same unified parser:

  • Claude Code - Anthropic
  • Gemini Code - Google
  • GitHub Copilot - GitHub
  • Codex - AI assistant
  • OpenCode - Open source

For Developers

Build from Source

git clone https://github.com/guidemode/session-processing.git
cd session-processing
pnpm install
pnpm build

See CLAUDE.md for:

  • Parser architecture details
  • How canonical format works
  • Adding new providers
  • Metrics processor documentation

Tech Stack

  • TypeScript with strict type safety
  • Unified canonical parser
  • 6 metric processors
  • React UI components
  • Dual build (ESM + CommonJS)

What Gets Analyzed

  • Performance - Response times, token usage
  • Usage - Commands executed, files modified, tools used
  • Quality - Success rates, error handling
  • Engagement - User interactions, turn counts
  • Errors - Error detection and categorization
  • Context - Context window usage, file tracking
