Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Knowledge and Vault tools for native Pi hosts

Readme

@gyoungwe/pi-knowledge

The first native Pi package in Drone. It exposes the knowledge/Vault extension through one installable Pi entry point. The published package contains a self-contained dist/index.mjs bundle and its package-local knowledge worker; it has no runtime dependency on a Drone checkout or private Drone package.

The package is intentionally honest on first run: knowledge_status returns { "status": "unconfigured", "next": "/drone-init" } until a Vault binding exists. The package does not create a Vault implicitly and does not change the existing .pi/ or Vault file formats.

Task authorization and progress tools (task_*, task-status and task-action) are provided by @gyoungwe/pi-core; this package registers only knowledge and research tools. The research-workflow skill is owned by @gyoungwe/pi-research and is intentionally not bundled here.

The bundle is produced by the host build and committed here as the release artifact. The external repository deliberately does not rebuild private Drone source; npm run build verifies the checked-in artifact and refreshes its content manifest, while npm run build:check is the CI freshness gate.

npm run smoke loads the packaged extension with the native registration contract, checks the first-run unconfigured response, and verifies that the dry-run tarball contains only publishable package files. Pi 1.1.0 can record a local .tgz as an extension path instead of unpacking it; install the unpacked package directory when using that host version.

0.2.1 source candidate

Knowledge category counts and recent-note groups now share one rule: explicit frontmatter type takes precedence, then the nearest recognized category directory, then filename keywords for untyped notes. A method named mapping-tools.md remains a method; a typed concept is not relabeled from its filename. This is a local source candidate, not an npm publication claim.
