Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

A project scaffolding CLI tool. Pull templates from GitHub repositories and create projects quickly.

Installation

npm i -g @hacxy/kick

Or use directly with npx:

npx @hacxy/kick@latest new

Usage

# Interactive template selection
npx @hacxy/kick@latest new

# Specify template
npx @hacxy/kick@latest new react-web

# Specify template and project name
npx @hacxy/kick@latest new react-web my-app

# Force refresh cache
npx @hacxy/kick@latest new react-web --refresh

# List available templates
npx @hacxy/kick@latest list

Template index is defined in templates.json, each template is a separate GitHub repository.

Cache

Downloaded templates are cached to ~/.fe/cache/. Subsequent creations of the same template use the cache. Use --refresh to force re-download.
