Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@haruhimemoe/messages

v0.2.11

Published

The translation catalogs for the haruhime.moe tools and the harumin bot: one ICU message catalog per app and locale, English as the source, missing keys falling back to English. Loaders shaped for next-intl through @haruhimemoe/next-kit. No dependencies.

@haruhimemoe/messages

The translation catalogs for the haruhime.moe osu! tools and the harumin Discord bot. English is the source. Every other language translates what it can, and anything it hasn't translated yet shows in English.

Want to translate? See CONTRIBUTING.md. No code needed: you edit JSON files and open a pull request.

Install

bun add @haruhimemoe/messages

No dependencies. Node 22.12 or later, or any bundler that handles import().

Use

Each catalog is one namespace: ui for @haruhimemoe/ui and next-kit's built-in text, common for what every tool shares, and one per app (packs, pools, bb, tourney, hub, harumin-site, harumin-bot).

import { loadMessages, messagesLoader, LOCALES, NAMESPACES } from "@haruhimemoe/messages";

await loadMessages("ja", "packs"); // { packs: { ... } }, English for any key ja lacks

With next-intl through @haruhimemoe/next-kit, without locale prefixes in URLs:

// i18n/request.ts
import { messagesLoader } from "@haruhimemoe/messages";
import { createRequestConfig, readRequestLocale } from "@haruhimemoe/next-kit/i18n/next-intl";

export default createRequestConfig({
  config: { locales: ["en", "ja"], defaultLocale: "en" },
  packages: [messagesLoader("ui"), messagesLoader("common")],
  app: messagesLoader("packs"),
  request: readRequestLocale,
});

Then useTranslations("packs"), and next-kit's uiLabels(useTranslations("ui")) gives ui's components their text.

API

| Export | What it is | | --- | --- | | loadMessages(locale, namespace) | Promise<{ [namespace]: Catalog }>. Keys the locale lacks come from English, nested objects merged. An unknown locale gets English. An unknown namespace throws. | | messagesLoader(namespace) | (locale) => loadMessages(locale, namespace), the shape next-kit's createRequestConfig takes. | | LOCALES | Every locale with at least one catalog, "en" first. | | NAMESPACES | Every namespace. | | DEFAULT_LOCALE | "en". | | Catalog, Namespace | Types. |

Messages use ICU message syntax: {name} for a value, {count, plural, one {# map} other {# maps}} for plurals.

Checking an app's keys

messages-check-keys <dir> scans an app's source for next-intl translators (getTranslations("ns"), useTranslations("ns.sub")) and fails when a literal key they're called with isn't in the English catalogs. A template key is checked up to its first placeholder. --scope harumin-bot also reads harumin's const t = scope("render") translators as keys under harumin-bot.render.
