Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Local MCP server for TouchDesigner with native project tools and offline skill guidance.

Higgsfield TouchDesigner MCP

Local MCP server for TouchDesigner with native project tools and an offline touch-design-master skill. It combines the MIT-licensed touchdesigner-mcp-server 2.1.0 with a bundled token-protected TouchDesigner component.

Requirements

  • Node.js 24 or later.
  • TouchDesigner build 2025.33230 or later and a valid TouchDesigner key on the MCP host.
  • A local desktop MCP client.

Installation

Install the package in a persistent directory because the TouchDesigner component loads adjacent Python modules:

tdDir="$HOME/.higgsfield/touch-designer-mcp"
npm install --prefix "$tdDir" @higgsfield_org/touch-designer-mcp
node "$tdDir/node_modules/@higgsfield_org/touch-designer-mcp/dist/cli.js" setup

setup creates a private token and prints a Python Textport command. Run that command in TouchDesigner for each project that needs MCP access. It loads the bundled component and binds its Web Server DAT to 127.0.0.1:9981. Save the .toe project yourself if you want that component to persist.

After running the Textport command, check the live connection and print a Codex entry:

node "$tdDir/node_modules/@higgsfield_org/touch-designer-mcp/dist/cli.js" doctor
node "$tdDir/node_modules/@higgsfield_org/touch-designer-mcp/dist/cli.js" config --format toml

Use config --format json for another MCP client. Register the printed absolute command and arguments, then reconnect. The stdio executable is fnf-touch-designer-mcp.

Tools

Call get_td_info to verify the native connection. td_get_skill reads bundled guidance even when TouchDesigner is closed. The native tool catalog includes execute_python_script; use it only with projects and scripts you trust.

Troubleshooting and limits

The component requires the private token stored under ~/.higgsfield/touch-designer-mcp/token. Keep port 9981 bound to loopback; do not expose it to a network. The package does not include Workshop preset execution. Attribution and adaptation details are in the installed UPSTREAM.md and UPSTREAM_LICENSE files.
