Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

AppIcon Generator CLI

A fast, completely offline command-line tool to generate perfectly sized app icons for iOS and Android. Powered by AppIcon.cc.

Features

  • No API required: Processes images completely locally using sharp.
  • iOS Support: Generates a complete AppIcon.appiconset folder with Contents.json ready for Xcode.
  • Android Support: Generates all required mipmap folders (mdpi through xxxhdpi) and the 512x512 Play Store icon.

Installation

Install globally via npm:

npm install -g @himanshuvishwas/appicon-generator

Or run instantly using npx:

npx @himanshuvishwas/appicon-generator input.png

Usage

# Generate both iOS and Android icons in the current directory
appicon input.png

# Generate ONLY Android icons
appicon input.png --android

# Generate ONLY iOS icons
appicon input.png --ios

# Output to a specific directory
appicon input.png --output ./my-assets

Input Image

For best results, use a high-resolution, square PNG image without transparency for iOS (Apple rejects transparent icons), sized at 1024x1024 pixels.
