Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@house-rules/comments

A domain addition: a public support module for flat comments on an app's objects. Its module comes from @house-rules/domain, and its shipped contracts from @house-rules/application/contract. Comments exposes list, add, edit, remove, removeTarget and erase. User methods take an Actor. Writes need an open unit of work.

Version 0.1.0 is release-ready for its first public release, not yet live on npm. Pin @house-rules/domain 0.1.0, @house-rules/application 0.1.0 and Effect 4.0.3 exactly. The package ships built JavaScript and declarations in dist/, this guide, AGENTS.md and its SQL migrations. The workspace still imports src/; the packed package exports dist/ with no bundler or type-stripping loader needed.

Mount Comments.layerPostgres(options) or Comments.layerMemory(options) in composition and fill the required CommentTargets host port. Options name allowed target kinds and cap body length and page size. The partial Comments.presets.default supplies limits but never chooses targets.

For a consumer on rules 0.17.0 whose own contract entry imports comments, add trustedContractPackages: ["@house-rules/comments"] to its existing layout(...) options. This trusts only the installed /contract entry, not the server entry. The packed-consumer check traverses its actual dependencies, including the domain and application contract entries and Effect, and rejects built-ins, direct contract imports of SQL, SQL drivers, storage adapters, server entries and unresolved imports without a bundler. Effect's root entry also reaches pure SQL abstractions through its own persistence exports. Those contain no drivers or Node imports and remain browser-loadable; this is not blanket trust for @effect/*.

The browser-safe /contract entry exports listComments, addComment, editComment and removeComment, their schemas, errors and permissions. The module knows no contracts. See AGENTS.md for mounting and deletion hooks.
