Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Fetch icon sets from icony.dev for use with react-icomoon.

Installation

npm install @icony-dev/icony

Usage

Fetch an icon set

import Icony from "@icony-dev/icony";

const iconSet = await Icony.fetch({ collectionId: "your-collection-id" });

Use with react-icomoon

import Icony from "@icony-dev/icony";
import IcoMoon from "react-icomoon";

const iconSet = await Icony.fetch({ collectionId: "your-collection-id" });

const Icon = (props) => <IcoMoon iconSet={iconSet} {...props} />;

Pass extra query parameters

Any additional properties besides collectionId and baseUrl are appended to the request URL as query string parameters.

const iconSet = await Icony.fetch({ collectionId: "your-collection-id", theme: "dark" });

Get icon names

Returns an array of all icon names in the icon set.

const iconSet = await Icony.fetch({ collectionId: "your-collection-id" });
const names = Icony.getIconNames(iconSet);
// → ["arrow-left", "arrow-right", "close", ...]

Check if an icon exists

const iconSet = await Icony.fetch({ collectionId: "your-collection-id" });

Icony.hasIcon(iconSet, "arrow-left"); // → true
Icony.hasIcon(iconSet, "unicorn");    // → false

Icony.fetch(options)

Returns a Promise that resolves to the icon set JSON, compatible with react-icomoon.

Throws an error if:

  • collectionId is missing
  • The collection is not found or the request fails

Icony.getIconNames(iconSet)
