Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v1.1.0

Global phone validator, reused across country packages

Readme

@idvalidator/global-phone

International phone number validator conforming to ITU-T E.164 standards and ISO country calling codes.

npm install @idvalidator/global-phone

This package validates, normalizes, parses, and formats international phone numbers. It is used as the global phone validation engine across country packages in the id-validator ecosystem, but can also be used as a standalone international phone validator.

Features

  • ITU-T E.164 Compliant: Validates international numbers starting with + up to 15 digits.
  • Calling Code Table Matching: Validates against real ITU assigned country calling codes (e.g. +1, +62, +44, +81, etc.).
  • Input Safety: Guards against non-ASCII characters, emojis, and excessively long inputs.
  • Full Domain Lifecycle: .validate(), .normalize(), .parse(), .format(), and .isValid().

Usage

import { phone } from "@idvalidator/global-phone";

// 1. Validate
const result = phone.validate("+62 812-3456-7890");
// { valid: true, errors: [], value: "+6281234567890" }

const invalid = phone.validate("08123456789");
// { valid: false, errors: [{ code: "MISSING_CALLING_CODE", message: "..." }] }

// 2. Normalize
phone.normalize("+1 (555) 234-5678");
// "+15552345678"

// 3. Parse
phone.parse("+62 812 3456 7890");
// { countryCallingCode: "62", nationalNumber: "81234567890" }

// 4. Format
phone.format("+6281234567890");
// "+62 81234567890"

// 5. Quick boolean check
if (phone.isValid("+6281234567890")) {
  // ...
}

Note: For country-specific handling that automatically assumes local prefixes (e.g. converting bare 0812... into +62812...), use the respective country package such as idvalidator-id.

API

  • phone.validate(input: unknown, options?: ValidationOptions): ValidationResult<string>
  • phone.normalize(input: string): string
  • phone.parse(input: string): ParsedPhone ({ countryCallingCode: string, nationalNumber: string })
  • phone.format(input: string): string
  • phone.isValid(input: unknown): boolean
