Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Middleware for form validation on express

Readme

What is this ?

Hi, i use AJV to make form validations and i was made to make this more simplest, so just put some jsons in the right place and ou will have a good form validator for you !

How install

Just copy and paste the code below

npm i -S @igorpdasilvaa/validator

How use

This validator is maked to use with express framework, you will need to have a folder called validator and put a JSON with the validator. The name o json file is used to know what is the route who will be validated, so if you put a users.json anything you put in the json will have /users as base route

In addition to this you will need to configure me as a middleware in the express, so i suggest to make something like that

const validator = require('@igorpdasilvaa/validator');

validator.loadJsonSchema('src'); // as param pass the parent folder of the validator subfolder

app.use(validator);

in addition to this you can find a real usage example in that link

Options to make you form validator more custom

you can pass a custom options object in the json schema as a local option or when you call the loadJsonSchema as a global configuration. In the options object you can pass the following options:

  • customMessage type string replace the error message of ajv for a custom message who you want to return to you user when fail in the validation
  • customKey type string replace the key used to pass the message of error, the default it's error, but with that you can change to other this, eg: message
  • status type int replace the default status returned to the client when a error is found, default it's 400

example of usage of options above

validator.loadJsonSchema('src',{
    customMessage: 'Wrong information, please try again',
    customKey: 'message',
    status: '401'
});
