Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Portable email HTML contracts and a Tiptap web editor for Inbox Zero

Readme

@inboxzero/email-editor

Reusable email composition primitives for Inbox Zero. The package keeps the provider interchange format as HTML while separating portable email correctness rules from the React/Tiptap editing surface.

Install

pnpm add @inboxzero/email-editor

The portable core is built JavaScript with TypeScript declarations and does not load React or Tiptap:

import {
  prepareEmailDraft,
  sanitizeEditableEmailHtml,
  validateEmailAttachments,
} from "@inboxzero/email-editor/core";

Consumers of @inboxzero/email-editor/web must also install the React and Tiptap peer dependencies declared by the package. Those peers are optional so native and backend consumers can install the core without bringing in a web editor stack.

Exports

  • @inboxzero/email-editor/core — editable-email HTML normalization, unsupported-markup fallback detection, preserved quote/signature handling, inline Content-ID rewriting, attachment validation, and public contracts.
  • @inboxzero/email-editor/web — the uncontrolled React/Tiptap editor and its web extensions.
  • @inboxzero/email-editor/fixtures — anonymous Gmail- and Outlook-style HTML fixtures for provider round-trip tests.

The core profile supports paragraphs and hard breaks, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, links, ordered and unordered lists, blockquotes, inline images, and block direction. Unsupported editable markup uses a warned fallback: an untouched draft remains byte-for-byte intact, while editing its sanitized view may simplify unsupported formatting. Complex quoted messages and signatures remain protected HTML and are combined with the canonical editable reply only when sending.

Inline images use temporary local preview URLs while editing. Before sending, finalizeEditableEmailHtml converts matched previews to cid: references; provider adapters must send the corresponding MIME/Graph attachment with the same content ID.

Publishing

The workspace manifest points at source files for local development. pnpm pack:check builds the public package into dist and verifies its tarball contents. After tests and type checking pass, an authorized maintainer can publish that generated package with:

cd dist
pnpm publish --access public --otp <one-time-password>
