Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@indx-workspace/create

v0.5.0

Published

npm create @indx-workspace <directory>: generate an Agent Workspace project (a v2 aw dev project by default, or a deployment project with --cloud) with @indx-workspace/cli's create-agent-workspace.

Readme

@indx-workspace/create

npm create @indx-workspace@latest <directory> generates an Agent Workspace project.

npm maps npm create @indx-workspace to this package and runs its one bin, which is create-agent-workspace from @indx-workspace/cli at the same version: the same arguments ([--yes] | [--cloud aws|gcp|azure|local] [--validate]), the same generated project and the same refusals.

The default: a v2 project

Without --cloud, create writes a v2 project: a package.json that pins @indx-workspace/aw, @indx-workspace/embedded and @indx-workspace/sdk at this version, agent-workspace.yaml, the agent under agents/ and the surface under surfaces/. It asks the setup questions on a terminal (an empty answer takes the recommended one) and shows the files before writing them. --yes takes the recommended answers without asking; without a terminal, create refuses unless --yes or --cloud local is given. No .env and no key is written: aw dev reads ANTHROPIC_API_KEY from its environment.

npm create @indx-workspace@latest acme-ai
npm create @indx-workspace@latest acme-ai -- --yes
cd acme-ai && npm install && npm run dev

A deployment project

--cloud local|aws|gcp|azure keeps the deployment project. A generated local project is the Compose project, which reads its answers from stdin and depends on @indx-workspace/cli at this version, so pnpm install && pnpm start inside it runs agent-workspace start.

npm create @indx-workspace@latest acme-ai -- --cloud local
npm create @indx-workspace@latest acme-ai -- --cloud gcp

Flags go after --

npm reads every option before -- as its own: npm create @indx-workspace acme-ai --yes gives --yes to npm, not to the generator. Put the generator's flags after --, as above.

Released in lock-step with @indx-workspace/contracts, sdk, aw and cli (ADR-0082).
