Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@inkoxide/tailwind

v0.4.0

Published

Tailwind class strings to Inkoxide styles, using the real Tailwind v4 compiler.

Readme

@inkoxide/tailwind

Turns Tailwind class strings into Inkoxide style objects, using the real Tailwind v4 compiler. Unsupported classes throw outside production and are ignored with a warning in production. Install it next to @inkoxide/render to style with className; without it, style works alone.

Part of Inkoxide. Requires Node.js >=22; ES modules only.

npm install @inkoxide/tailwind

Usage

import { DEFAULT_THEME_CSS, initTailwind, setTailwindStrict, tw } from '@inkoxide/tailwind';

await initTailwind(); // once per process
const style = tw('p-4 text-lg font-bold text-slate-700');
console.log(style); // { paddingTop: 12, …, fontSize: 13.5, fontWeight: 700, color: […] }

// `em`, `vw` and `vh` in arbitrary values resolve against the units you give, in points:
// the inherited font size (and the element's, when something else sets it) and the page size.
tw('w-[2em] h-[10vh]', { parentFontSize: 12, page: { width: 595.28, height: 841.89 } }); // { width: 24, height: 84.189 }

// Options, all optional: `css`, a theme (extend the bundled one: its font stacks name the
// bundled fonts); `base`, the directory its @imports resolve from; `strict` (default: outside
// production); and `cacheSize`, how many class strings are cached (default 5000).
await initTailwind({
  css: DEFAULT_THEME_CSS + '@theme { --color-accent: #1e4a99; }',
  strict: true,
  cacheSize: 10000,
});
setTailwindStrict(false); // log unsupported classes once instead of throwing
tw.warm(['p-4 text-lg', 'flex gap-2']); // map known class strings ahead, e.g. at server start
tw.cacheSize(); // 2: the class strings cached
