Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Portable AgentSam Database Editor — adapters for SQLite/D1/Postgres/Supabase + vectors surface. Donor: IAM /dashboard/database. Independent project; not affiliated with Supabase.

Readme

@inneranimalmedia/agentsam-database-editor

Portable AgentSam Database Editor harvested from the production InnerAnimalMedia database studio.

Cloudflare D1, Supabase/Postgres, Hyperdrive and local SQLite are adapters. The product is the common editor + observability surface.

Package boundary

@inneranimalmedia/agentsam-database-editor
├── frontend/
│   └── DatabaseEditorApp + browser client
├── backend/
│   ├── D1 REST / D1 binding
│   ├── Postgres / Hyperdrive / Supabase
│   └── provider metrics
└── backend/sqlite
    └── Node-only local SQLite

Browser apps import:

import {
  DatabaseEditorApp,
  createDatabaseStudioClient,
} from "@inneranimalmedia/agentsam-database-editor/frontend";

Worker/server apps import:

import {
  createD1Adapter,
  createD1BindingAdapter,
  createPostgresAdapter,
  createHyperdriveAdapter,
  createSupabaseAdapter,
  readD1Metrics,
  readPostgresMetrics,
} from "@inneranimalmedia/agentsam-database-editor/backend";

Local Node runtimes import SQLite explicitly so node:sqlite never enters a Worker/browser graph:

import { createSqliteAdapter } from "@inneranimalmedia/agentsam-database-editor/backend/sqlite";

Local Studio

apps/local-studio is the first production host.

/database provides:

  • provider/source switcher
  • Cloudflare D1 GraphQL metrics
  • Postgres/Hyperdrive metrics
  • tables + schema + indexes + relations
  • paginated data browser
  • SQL execution
  • insert / update / delete
  • explicit write confirmation for mutating SQL
  • second confirmation for destructive/schema SQL
  • compact workbench embedding

Local Studio owns authenticated account identity, OAuth/token storage, Cloudflare bindings, Hyperdrive connection lifecycle, and local-device transport. The package never owns provider secrets.

Resource rules

  • Cloudflare D1: account OAuth catalog or a host-owned D1 binding. OAuth tokens stay server-side.
  • Supabase/Postgres: host injects a Postgres query function. Hyperdrive is an accelerator/connection path, not a separate SQL dialect.
  • Local SQLite: real Node/local-runtime access only. The hosted browser must never manufacture a fake .sqlite connection.
  • Vectors: optional and independent from the relational database adapter.

CLI/install

curl -fsSL https://agentsam.inneranimalmedia.com/install | bash -s -- --app-id database-editor

agentsam-database-editor info
agentsam-database-editor doctor

The installer resolves database-editor directly to @inneranimalmedia/agentsam-database-editor; it does not manufacture an SDK wrapper.

The package is independently installable as the portable database capability layer. The full interactive /database surface is currently host-rendered by Local Studio. When agentsam-studio is installed, agentsam-database-editor preview delegates to that host.

app_id = database-editor is stable product identity.
