Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Svelte bindings for @insurup/table-adapter-core

@insurup/table-adapter-svelte

Svelte bindings for @insurup/table-adapter-core.

Installation

npm install @insurup/table-adapter-svelte @insurup/sdk @tanstack/table-core
bun add @insurup/table-adapter-svelte @insurup/sdk @tanstack/table-core

Usage (Svelte 5)

The createCustomerTable function returns a CustomerTableInstance with a reactive state property powered by Svelte 5's $state rune.

No subscription needed! Just access ct.state directly in your template.

<script lang="ts">
import { onDestroy } from 'svelte';
import { createCustomerTable } from '@insurup/table-adapter-svelte';
import { DefaultInsurUpClient } from '@insurup/sdk';

const client = new DefaultInsurUpClient({
  baseUrl: 'https://api.insurup.com',
  tokenProvider: () => token,
});

// Create the customer table - state is reactive!
const ct = createCustomerTable({
  columns: (col) => [col.id(), col.name(), col.primaryEmail()],
  fetch: (options) => client.customers.getCustomers(options),
  autoFetch: true,
});

// Cleanup on unmount
onDestroy(() => ct.destroy());

// Search handler — unified filter API. Use `$search: true` to promote a
// per-field value to the server's search slot (unlocks textSearch, etc.).
function handleSearch(value: string) {
  if (value.trim()) {
    ct.adapter.setFilter({ name: { $search: true, textSearch: value.trim() } });
  } else {
    ct.adapter.clearFilter();
  }
}
</script>

<!-- ct.state is reactive - no subscription needed! -->
{#if ct.state.isLoading}
  <p>Loading...</p>
{:else if ct.state.error}
  <p>Error: {ct.state.error.message}</p>
{:else}
  <table>
    <thead>
      {#each ct.table.getHeaderGroups() as headerGroup}
        <tr>
          {#each headerGroup.headers as header}
            <th>{header.column.columnDef.header}</th>
          {/each}
        </tr>
      {/each}
    </thead>
    <tbody>
      {#each ct.table.getRowModel().rows as row}
        <tr>
          {#each row.getVisibleCells() as cell}
            <td>{cell.getValue()}</td>
          {/each}
        </tr>
      {/each}
    </tbody>
  </table>

  <div>
    Page {ct.table.getState().pagination.pageIndex + 1} of {ct.state.pageCount}
    <button onclick={() => ct.table.previousPage()} disabled={!ct.table.getCanPreviousPage()}>
      Previous
    </button>
    <button onclick={() => ct.table.nextPage()} disabled={!ct.table.getCanNextPage()}>
      Next
    </button>
  </div>
{/if}

API

createCustomerTable

const ct = createCustomerTable(options);

Returns a CustomerTableInstance with:

| Property | Type | Description | | --------- | --------------- | --------------------------------------- | | state | AdapterState | Reactive adapter state via $state | | table | Table | TanStack Table instance | | adapter | CustomerTable | Raw adapter for advanced use | | destroy | Function | Cleanup function - call in onDestroy |

state properties:

  • rows - Current page data
  • isLoading - Initial loading state
  • isFetching - Any fetch in progress
  • error - Error if any
  • pageCount - Total pages
  • rowCount - Total records

adapter methods:

  • setFilter(filter) — set the unified filter (filter ops + $search-marked entries) and refetch
  • getFilter() — get the current unified filter
  • clearFilter() — clear the filter and refetch
  • invalidate() — invalidate cache and refetch
  • refetch({ force }) — refetch with optional cache bypass

The adapter exposes one filter API. There is no setSearch — fields are promoted to server-side search by adding $search: true to the per-field value. The adapter splits the unified value into the server's filter: and search: slots at fetch time.

// Plain filter
ct.adapter.setFilter({ type: { eq: CustomerType.Individual } });

// Search — `$search: true` routes to `search:` and unlocks text-search ops
ct.adapter.setFilter({ name: { $search: true, textSearch: 'ali' } });

// Mixed in one call — splits into both slots
ct.adapter.setFilter({
  type: { eq: CustomerType.Individual },
  name: { $search: true, textSearch: { value: 'ali', score: { boost: 2 } } },
});

See the @insurup/table-adapter-core README for the full unified-filter shape (combinators, score boost/constant, runtime meta introspection).

Reactivity

The state property is reactive via Svelte 5's $state rune. Access it directly in your template:

<!-- This is reactive - updates automatically when data changes -->
{#if ct.state.isLoading}
  <p>Loading...</p>
{/if}

{#each ct.table.getRowModel().rows as row}
  ...
{/each}

This package re-exports everything from @insurup/table-adapter-core. See the core package documentation for full API details.
